58. Museum of Contemporary Art

This morning I visit the Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA) – this fabulous museum opened to the public in 1995, has a history dating back to 1959, when several prominent city figures began to gather together a collection that would serve as the foundation for the future museum. Now it boasts a vast collection of contemporary artworks from around the world …

The building is designed by North American architect Richard Meier and consists of three floors of spacious interior galleries opening off sunlight flooded balconies connected by walkways.

 

 

This is a very interesting exhibition and beautifully curated in this spacious museum.

It was a delight to visit this exhibition - especially as the gallery was almost empty of other tourists !!
