Varna is a very attractive city - plenty of busy activity but at the same time keeping a peaceful pace without the roar of most cities. It is a busy commerce port linking the country with the rest of the trading world and also the the Bulgarian Naval port ( there was plenty of evidence of that in the harbour, but I thought it probably prudent not to be seen taking pics of naval vessels ... ).
