The museum covers the period from 1850 to present day, with works by foremost
Portuguese artists of the period. It is reputed to hold the best collection of
Portuguese painting and sculpture from the Romanticism, Naturalism and Modern
periods, and going on what I viewed today, I think the reputation is well
deserved.
