197. The colours of Athens - Part 2



Wandering the streets and alley-ways of down-town Athens I have been both delighted and surprised with the amount and variety of graffiti plastered on the walls of residential and commercial buildings. Some of the stuff is just plain ugly graffiti, but every now and again I have come across some real artworks – which I like to call urban art.

In a country where the population is very vocal about their opinions of politicians, the police and the establishment, most of the images and the wording reflects just those opinions. That aside, so much of this art is beautifully colourful, clever and certainly very eye-catching. You be the judge
