Following on from my previous post of artworks of the late 20th Century in the fabulous Gallerie Italia, in this post I go back in time to the turn of the 19th / 20th Century and back to the mid-1800s.
The Gallerie Italia is housed in a complex of the Palazzo
Anguissola Antona Traversi and the Palazzo Brentani built in 1775 and 1778, plus the
original building for the Banca Commerciale Italiana built between 1906 and 1911.
Many of the original early 1900's features of the
banking chamber have been kept
in the restoration of the building ...
