The Met's collection of marble and limestone statues is quite overwhelming ... their collection of Asian, Egyptian, Roman, Greek and 18th century European artworks seems endless !!! - room after room of beautifully preserved works.
Here are just a few marble busts I found ... the rests I'll show you later ...
Juisa Deti - Ippolito Buzio - Italy - 1604
Cardinal Scipioni Borghesi - Giuliano Finelli - Italy - 1632
Marcus Aurelius - Roman - CA ad 160
Genevieve Randon de Malboissiere - Jean Baptiste Lemoyne - France - 1768
Marquis Jean Deyde - Christophe Veyrier - France - 1684
Francesco Bocchetta - Alessandro Vittoria - Italian - 1565
Roman Woman - 1st century AD
Co-Emperor Lucius Verus - Roman - AD 160
Certain unkind friends are accusing me of working as the promotions officer for the Met - I wish !!!!
I did return there today for my third visit - this time only staying for about four hours ...
So I still have lots to show you from the Met - but I'll have a short break for the time being and tomorrow take you for a walk through the wonderfully green Central Park ...
