110. Museum of Croatian Arts and Crafts ... #1

The first on my list of "must visits" is the Zagreb Museum of Arts and Crafts located in a purpose built palace at Marshal Tito Square opposite the National Theatre. This fascinating look into the arts was established in 1880 with the present palace opening in 1909.

The museum houses more than 100,000 objects spanning from 4th century to the 20th century, with a permanent exhibition that extends over three floors and includes more than 3000 exhibits.

Unfortunately all the descriptive labels are in Croatian - with few exceptions - so I am unable to give credit and title to any of the fine pieces featured here ... my apologies to the artists and to the Museum ...

This is a beautiful collection of fine art curated superbly in this stunning Museum - and to my delight I had the place to myself ... and there is so much to see here - but I'll give your senses a rest for the moment and continue exploring the Museum in my next post ...

... to be continued ...
