116. The Mimara Museum - 3D collection

In my last posting I walked you through the top floor of this beautiful museum looking at a portion of the fine paintings from the Ante and Wiltrud Mimara collection - remember, this is an entire museum  made up of a donated art collection.

And in today's posting I'll show you some of the amazing collection of archeology, sculpture, applied art, glass and textiles from 4th century Mesopotamia through Early Byzantium and Gothic periods, Italy of the Renaissance and Baroque Europe to Bali of the 19th century - and much more ...

I haven't labeled most of the images as the Gallery descriptions are in the Croatian language - my apologies to the Museum and to the artisans ...

The Museum boasts close to 4000 pieces of artwork including carpets, paintings, sculptures, porcelain, fabrics, glass - the list is endless - all of which were capable of arousing this collector's passion ...

This is an extraordinary museum full of richness and beauty, and I felt quite privileged to spend a few hours wandering the halls ...
